Tips and advice for how to prepare for a colour/perm consultation.

Coming into a new salon can be daunting, especially when you’re wanting something different done to your hair. So we have made this page dedicated to explaining how you can get the most out of your consultation.

Our consultations are £5 and typically take around 15-20 minutes. This time is dedicated to us wanting to get a full understanding of what it is you’d like to have done to your hair, taking a strand test (so we can ensure we get the outcome desired), and doing a allergy test.

Some questions we like to ask is about your hair history, as it is crucial for us to understand what chemical procedures you have had on your hair over the years. (Believe it or not, but even a colour/perm you did to your hair a year ago can still be in your hair!). So we aren’t being nosey, we just want to make sure we are advising you in the best way, as adding more chemical over the top can cause damage.

We loooooveeee to see inspiration photos! Bring in as many as you like and even ones you don’t like, these are so helpful to us, as we can use these as visual comparisons in helping you decide on what to do with your hair! We talk about upkeep, as we want to ensure that the type of procedure you are wanting to have done, as some colours are more high maintenance than others.

We will go over pricing for the decided procedure and advise you on aftercare, with what products will be best suited for washing, drying and styling for you.

So don’t worry if you are unsure, here in the salon we want to take time to make sure that you are feeling happy and confident so ask us as many questions as you like. A consultation needs to be done a minimum of 48 hours before any chemical service.
